O’Fallon, MO is a small city with a population just shy of 90,000 that offers many of the things that make a city a great place to live. 

In fact, it was recently voted as the most livable city in America by the financial website, smartasset. 

Located a little over 30 miles west of St. Louis, O’Fallon offers its residents affordable housing, livable wages, and plenty of things to do, while still holding on to that sense of community that you can only find in a small city.

The median home value is $226,300, the median rent is $1,103, and the median household income is $90,025. In this suburb of St. Louis, most residents, 82% of them, own their homes.

There are lots of excellent public schools in O’Fallon, including Independence Elementary School, Emge Elementary School, Francis Howell Middle School, North High School, and West High School, most of which have A ratings

 

Villages at Dardenne

With a lake, a clubhouse, a sparse suburban feel with lovely one and two-story homes and large yards, Villages at Dardenne is a charming place to settle down. This neighborhood has a population of 5,650 residents with an average age of 50.

You may think that you’ll feel unwelcome if you’re younger, but perish the thought. This is a nice place for families with several elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools less than a twelve-minute drive away, including John Weldon Elementary School, Dardenne Elementary School, Fort Zumwalt West Middle School, and Fort Zumwalt West High School.

We already mentioned several amenities, but there are others. You’ll also find three community pools, nature trails, a golf course called Links of Dardenne, and a tennis court.

Nearby food spots include Town Square Pub N Grub, First Wok, and El Maguey Mexican Restaurant. Save money on your next read at Half Price Books or pick up the latest bestseller at Barnes & Noble. The neighborhood also has doctors’ offices, fitness clubs, and all the shops you’ll need.

The median home price here is about $325,000.

 

The Villas at Legends Pointe

This new home development has everything you and your family need nearby. Dining, shopping, entertainment, and even fishing are just a stone’s throw away. 

Housing options include 40 villas and 74 single-family homes. Your HOA covers all exterior maintenance. 

There’s a playground and a lake, and you can grow your own plants in the community garden. 

The lowest home price in The Villas at Legends Pointe is $242,000. You can also contact them via the linked website to ask about having a new home built for you. Their two and three-bedroom homes range in size from 1,408 to 1,735 square feet.

The Villas at Legends Pointe is in the Wentzville School District, which will take your kids from kindergarten through high school.

 

Hyland Green

Hyland Green has large single-family homes with wide yards. Plus, your HOA dues pay for some great stuff, including the neighborhood pool, which has a lifeguard on duty. This place has cabanas, a playground, walking paths, and sports areas. The website includes a photo gallery and detailed floor plans.

This is a nice place for families and is within the Fort Zumwalt School District, taking your kids from kindergarten through 12th grade.

You can purchase a pre-built home, or have one built for you. There are three and four-bedroom homes from 2,000 to 3,446 square feet. Prices range from about $280,000 to $625,000, and top off around $1.3 million.

The O’Fallon Walk Shopping Center and Shops at Laura Hill are 13 minutes away, so you’re fairly close to restaurants, groceries, and entertainment, and more.

 

All Saints Village

All Saints Village has a mix of homes for sale and apartments for rent. The homes here are mostly three or four-bedroom places with a median price of $362,944. There are also some five-bedroom homes. Median rent is $1,407. 

Like some of the other neighborhoods listed here, this one has a sparse suburban feel with lots of big, one-story homes, large lawns, backyards, and plenty of space between homes. You’ll find several lakes and parks in the area, too, and places to walk.

Nearby eateries include Stone Soup Cottage serving gourmet French dishes, and Bemos serving American and Cajun food. The neighborhood is 11 minutes from the Westfield Mall, and nine minutes from O’Fallon Shopping Center. It’s also just seven minutes from Woodlands Sports Park, which features sports, fishing, and a playground.
